Mission & Strategy
The Audiovisual Design career, from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Town Planning (FADU), at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), has more than twenty years educating creative professionals for the audiovisual aids.
The University of Buenos Aires -which recently had its 190th anniversary- is public and free. Admission of students is not limited.
The education is based on the knowledge of filmmaking, television and new broadcasting and audiovisual production aids (digital video, internet, cell phone contents, animation, etc).
It has more than 2500 active students, and a qualified team of teachers, that covers the whole theoretical and practical subjects, to give response to the present needs of this field.
We try to educate creative professionals, who will be able to generate their own projects, design them and realize them.
We believe that it is always better to make instead of saying, and our academic education is focused on the audiovisual production of our students and graduates.
We have a Production Center, with a film set, cameras and post-production equipment and services, not only for giving classes, but also to support the work of our students and graduate designers. Since 2012, this center is directed by our own graduates.
The Faculty has also a Sports Center and develops social and cultural activities for the students.
The Career has made agreements with the new digital TV channels -created since the approval of the new Law of Audiovisual Aids- to produce contents made by students, teachers and graduates.
In the prestigious framework of the public University, we give education for the students to be artistically and creatively free to create the new audiovisual contents, the ones society requires, with a high professional quality.
The University of Buenos Aires is public and free. Admission of students is not limited.
Since 2002, the Audiovisual Design career is an active member of CILECT (Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinéma et de Télévision) and it is also a member of FEISAL (Federación de escuelas de Imagen y Sonido de América Latina)
