Mission & Strategy
Dalarna Audiovisual Academy (DAVA) at Dalarna University, Sweden, gathers over 40 faculty members and around 400 students across two departments: Moving Image Production and Sound and Music Production.
Established in 2000, our common interest is the experience and communication of “audiovisuality” and how this comes about through the creation of audiovisual artefacts.
Central to DAVA’s education and research is the question of how various ways of producing and distributing moving image and sound productions informs storytelling, aesthetics and audience perception, and vice versa.
Our state-of-the-art facilities and equipment - including a Film & TV soundstage, full-size cinema, recording studio, mixing rooms, Arri Alexa cameras, sound and lighting equipment and a range of digital editing workstations – reflects our nearly twenty-year commitment to prepare students for a successful career in film, tv, music and screen media industries.
