Major Achievements: Raman S Iyer, alumni of FTII (Film & Television Institute of India, Pune) from the batch of 1994, has been working as a Director of Photography for audio-visual productions in Television and Film Industry since 1999. During the interim period he gained experience, as an assistant to ace cinematographers of the Indian film industry namely Mazhar Kamran, Attar Sing Saini, Vijay Khambatti, Anoop Jotwani, Anil Mehta, Santhosh Sivan, Ramachandra Babu and S. Kumar.
Starting off his independent career shooting Tele-Films for the regional television channels in Kerala, which won him the Best Cameraman Award (instituted by the KERALA FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION) twice over, his repertoire includes documentaries and promotional films for various departments and quasi government agencies produced by the Public Relations Department of the Government of Kerala, including an acclaimed documentary film on the legendary painter K. C. S Panicker.
He ventured into the Malayalam film industry as an independent DP in the year 2005 and with six feature films, numerous short films, advertising and corporate films to his credit, he also took upon the role of a lecturer in the Mindscreen Film Institute situated in Chennai, upon invitation by the ace cinematographer Rajeev Menon for a brief period in 2011. He also served as a visiting faculty and external expert in cinematography, at KRNNIVSA (K R NARAYANAN NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF VISUAL SCIENCE AND ARTS) since its inception in 2014, till joining AISFM as an associate professor in 2018.
